Tregony: The Gateway to the Roseland
Just a short drive from Roseland Holiday is the charming town of Tregony. With a history dating back to the 13th century, Tregony offers visitors a glimpse into the past alongside modern conveniences.
History
In the 13th century, Tregony was a thriving market town with the right to hold weekly markets and annual three-day fairs. It served as an important centre of trade and commerce for the local tin mining and agriculture industries. Though it lost prominence after trade shifted to the neighbouring town of Truro, remnants of Tregony's medieval heyday can still be seen in its narrow streets and historic buildings.
Shopping and provisions
For stocking up on essentials during your stay, there is a Londis convenience store located in the centre of Tregony. It's open 7 days a week, from 7.30AM - 8PM Mon-Sat and 9AM - 7PM on Sundays, allowing you to pop in at a time that suits you. You'll find all your grocery must-haves there, whether its milk and eggs or snacks and beverages. See their website for detailed opening times.
Pubs
Visitors looking to experience a taste of authentic Cornish culture can head to the historic Kings Arms pub, which first opened its doors in the 16th century. Well-known for its selection of local ales and ciders, it offers the perfect place to grab a pint and a bite to eat after a day of exploring. Sports fans may also want to stop into the Tregony Sports and Social Club to catch the latest matches alongside residents. With two great pubs, a relaxed pint is always close at hand when staying in our Roseland cottage. Click here for more information on local pubs and restaurants near Bay Tree Barn.
